Performance Page

Since I have bought the Buick, I have done modifications to it, these include:

August 1999
Dynomax Dual exhaust

August 1999
K&N Filter

With these modifications my best quater mile time at RaceCity here in Calgary('99) was 16.9s, which is not bad for a almost completly stock 350-4.

June 2000
A belted hose kit for the engine compartment

Here are some pictures of the engine compartment, click the pump for progressive pictures of the engine.

July 2000
Stage One Intake from TA Performance

I have purchased and installed the above TA Performance Stage One intake manifold. I noticed a difference in pickup especially in higher rpm. Not only that but it looks good too.

However the intake does not come bolt on. The manifold bolts that are used in the original 1969 350 are about 1/2 to 1 and a half centimeters too long. The proper length bolts could be purchased from TA Performance (75$) or from a local bolt shop. The intake ran me about $500 Canadian on my doorstep. If you want to go to TA's webpage click the TA image above.

I do not have a picture of the intake installed as of yet mostly because I haven't had time.

Aug 2001, I took the Buick to the track on a very warm and humid night she ran 16.7s in 1/4 mile. I know she can do better but I can't prove it till I replace the rear that just blew.

This is a picture of the winter of 1999/2000 when my rear passenger side bearing broke, it was leaking and making bad knocking sounds. I thought I could kill two birds with one stone by replacing the rear with a posi but it didn't work out....I purchased a 1971 Buick Electra and attempted to do a direct rear end interchange.

However, the shock mounts and spring mounts did not match by a long shot. This interchange is not possible without serious welding and cutting to which I have limited access to these tools.

I recieved information from some supposid Buick Guru's that the rear should fit as well the axel should fit, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I think from now on I will be a little more concious of other people's knowledge when their field of study is mostly specialized in A bodies.
Eventually I had to replace the bearing itself. I even attempted to take the axel from my other buick but it did not fit. Why I dunno!

I plan to get for my Buick:

I plan to upgrade to a chrome version of the below rims from my factory modifications for the added benefit of better handling and slightly different look.

Performance upgrades:

There are always a load of these to get but for now I think I will stick with a few small things and as my budget increases, I will go for some of the larger ticket items like TA's new supercharger for the 350.

Ram Air set up of some sort.
